so good i had to cross-post
This is really an ad for my "real blog" at http://www.godblessthefreaks.org/philip/. Visit me there. Read überfascinating content like this recent entry:

On the way back from the gym, i caught part of a fascinating show on Valley Free Radio on the topic of ADD. Memorable quote (paraphrased of course): “In the world of ADD, there are only two times: ‘now’ and ‘not now’.”

I like that.
I've been accused of having ADD but I think I'm just spastic and overcommitted :)

Tee hee. :) I certainly know that feeling, ADD or no.

Interestingly, one of the things they talked about on this program was the fact that everyone nowadays thinks they have ADD, and how to distinguish the real condition from just general stress associated with contemporary Western life. The expert first of all said that even generic stress resulting from our too-fast-paced culture may well require some sort of intervention, whether it's a medical condition or not. I thought that was a very insightful comment. He went on to say that the difference is, someone who's just developed ADD-like behaviors from the environment can get away from those stressors, say by taking a weekend at a farm in Vermont. Someone who's ADD will "turn the farm into an amusement park."

I would certainly turn the farm into an amusement park -- or need to occupy myself by inventing an amusement park to keep from getting bored at the farm.

THANK GOD someone finally said that.
I am so sick to pieces of ADD being the new "date rape" or "bipolar" (as in the trendy ailment of the year)

Yes, I definitely remember your name from Randolph days. I think I was the oldest kid in the intro Spanish classes (well, once Joe Moorman graduated) so there were a lot of people in there that i didn't really get to know.

What are you up to these days? I suppose that since this is a blog site and all, i can surf over there and find out.

Thanks for writing!

Working in a virology lab in Denver, trying to get into grad school, and oddly enough, quietly making my way OUT of the goth scene :D
